Our cottages are designed to be home from home, perfect for hunkering down by the fire, whiling away the hours playing boardgames, or cooking up a storm in the well equipped kitchens. And if you are going stir crazy, the local area is filled with places to explore, whatever the weather. The following are just a few suggestions for wet weather fun at Graston…
  • Table tennis in our old milking Parlour
  • Board games, including Scrabble, Monopoly, and many others
  • The Sea-life Centre in Weymouth has over 1000 aquatic creatures, including crocodiles, penguins, seals, otters, seahorses and shoals and shoals of brightly coloured fish.
  • The Heritage Coast Centre at Charmouth offers a great introduction to how these cliffs were formed, the wildlife found around them and how to hunt for fossils.
  • Lyme Regis has a its own museum, a dedicated fossil museum and streets packed with curiosities and places to potter.
  • The Tutankhamen Exhibition in Dorchester is a world acclaimed exhibition of this most famous of Egyptian emperors, featuring a wealth of major treasures meticulously recreated, wherever possible, in their original materials.
  • Palmer’s brewery tours in Bridport take you round the only thatched brewery in the UK, working here since 1794.
  • Bovington Tank Museum traces the history of the tank and other armoured vehicles in an exhibition of almost 300 vehicles. It is the largest collection of tanks and the second largest collection of armoured vehicles in the world.
